  2. This is the .README file for AmiSlate v1.4.  Even if you don't
  3. read any other docs, read this!
  4.  
  5. SYNOPSIS
  6. --------
  7.  
  8. AmiSlate is a paint program that lets you draw interactively
  9. with a friend over the Internet.  It also sports a heavy-duty
  10. ARexx interface, which allows it to be programmed to do other 
  11. things as well.  (For examples, check out the included ARexx scripts). 
  12.  
  13. AmiSlate requires AS225 or AmiTCP (3.0b2 or higher), and WorkBench 
  14. 2.04 or higher.

  17. NEW IN RELEASE 1.4

  20. - An AS225 version is now included.
  21. - A "Transmit Pointer" option, so your peer can see where your
  22.   mouse is.
  23. - A "Load Brush" option for more flexible IFF loading.
  24. - More ARexx scripts, including Checkers, Reversi, and Backgammon.
  25. - Many Bug Fixes and small enhancements

  28. RELEASE NOTES
  29. -------------

  31. 1) AmiSlate 1.4 is not able to communicate correctly with
  32.    versions 1.3 or lower.  Sorry about that!  Tell your friends
  33.    to upgrade!

  35. 2) The Installer script now uses an ARexx script to update 
  36.    your inetd.conf and services files.  This script is smart
  37.    enough to add the right line if it's not there, or replace
  38.    the old line if it is.  It is also safe--it will make a
  39.    backup of the old configuration file before writing.
  40.    So feel free to let the Install script do your editing 
  41.    for you.

  43. 3) If you don't let the Installer update your config files,
  44.    then make sure the entry in inetd.conf points to the right
  45.    executable!  AmiSlate now comes as AmiSlate_AmiTCP and 
  46.    AmiSlate_AS225, and you need to make sure the line in 
  47.    db/inetd.conf still refers to the correct executable file.
